Research Operating Manager

Keysight Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Digital ASIC/DSP Research Operating Manager.  This role will focus on primarily the execution of DSP ASIC designs for Keysight.  This critical position has an opportunity to shape Keysights future product architectures and impact the world around us by creating and delivering new measurement solutions.

This Operating Manager position is responsible for analog, digital, and mixed signal ASIC projects to be implemented in CMOS/BiCMOS and related technologies.  This position is based in Rotselaar, Belgium.

Objectives of Role:

  • Execute analog, digital, and mixed-signal ASICs for Keysight products, on-time and at targeted performance, cost, and quality.  Communicate and balance appropriate trade-offs with product divisions to optimize between schedule, performance, and cost.  Improve the execution of these critical ASICs to support improvements in overall product time to market.
  • Increase the return of Keysight ASICs by facilitating convergence, re-use, and leverage and by driving ASIC innovations that translate into increased customer value in Keysight product solutions
  • Improve ASIC design productivity by building consistency and excellence in ASIC design processes and tools.  Not only execute projects to plan, but continue to decrease ASIC development time and productization of these ASICs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and align scope, schedule, and resources for analog, digital, and mixed-signal ASICs to enable Keysight products
  • Implement appropriate management processes, tracking mechanisms, and risk management to drive successful execution of projects
  • Coordinate the activities between different design and support groups to deliver ASICs to product divisions
  • Effectively utilize and drive adherence to Keysights Product Life Cycle to drive execution of ASICs
  • Guide, mentor, coach, lead, and drive engineers and teams towards high levels of performance utilizing different tactics as appropriate for different situations and teams
  • Conduct regular, effective, credible, and productive interactions/communications with product team on current and future ASIC developments
  • Conduct regular program reviews covering program schedule, issues, and risks internally and with product divisions
  • Develop and manage the careers of the engineering team and provide coaching/mentoring to increase their contribution
  • Continuously drive and lead initiatives to improve the execution, return, and productivity of Keysight ASIC Design
  • Actively participate in driving the strategic direction and roadmapping of ASIC technology at Keysight
